Educational Leadership

1. I believe that we can define what it means to be information literate. I think that being information literate you are able to identify and evaluate the difference between credible and non credible websites.
2. I think we can we teach our students to have the skills essential to information literacy. Educational Leadership states that to evaluate the accuracy of a website you should look for length, text revisions, editorial ratings, and patterns of editing.
3. I believe that we can truly prepare students to be effective users of the most powerful medium. If we continue to educate students on how to determine if a website is reliable they will be effective users of the most powerful medium.

Podcasting

Podcasting is a great tool to keep students informed. I would use podcasts to inform students about projects and difficult assignments. I could recored specific directions or update assignments just in case students do not understand what they need to do. I all so think podcasts are a great resource for students to communicate with there peers. I would encourage students to help each other using podcasting. Lastly I would use podcasting to notify students quickly if I am going to be absent and what I want them to do while I am gone.

Video Creation And Podcasting

I could use video creation and podcasting in my classroom in multiple ways. I could assign students to do a research project requiring them to incorporate video creation and podcasting. I could also recored my lessons and podcast them to my class blog so students have fast access to my lectures if they need help.

Flickr

I would use Flickr in the classroom to help enhance my presentations. I would use relevant images from flicker to help engage students when I give presentations. I would all so urge my students to become a member of Flickr to explore what other students around the world are posting. Learning about other cultures through Flickr is a great resource because students can actually converse with others in a safe environment.
